Christi and I took our weekly walk and checked out the new construction going on. The new bus barn is showing some good progress with the walls going up.
Then we walked by the current South school which will be torn down to make room for the new Freshmen Campus. It was neat to see the walls on the building had been marked up with chalk. The last day of school was this past Thursday and they must have let the kids write nice things on walls of the school. It brought back lots of memories as this is the school that I went to many, many years ago.
We then walked over to where I and our son Jeff played tennis for many years. The tennis courts were for many years located on the NE corner of the school property and located near the creek.
The tennis courts are now all gone and all that is left is a hole in the ground as this will not be used as a retention pond. This is a good idea as many times in the spring the creek would flood and cover the tennis courts.
The next update could very well have pictures of South school being torn down.
