Today Christi and I, and our Granddaughter Gracie went to the Standale Memorial Day parade. We went to watch Tyler and Julie walk in the parade. Both Tyler and Julie have been taking karate lessons and their karate school walks in the parade. It was a hot and sunny day but there was a nice breeze blowing so it was not too bad. We found our spots and waited for the parade to start. Just before the parade started we were given a plane formation flyover. Gracie liked that a lot.
Here is Gracie playing in the dirt (she just loves dirt) waiting for the parade to start.
The parade has started and it’s still a ways off, but we can hear the sirens.
Here the parade comes by us, represented by the various armed forces.
Gracie enjoyed all the candy the various groups marching by threw. I had to stop her for a moment so I could get a picture of her and grandma enjoying the parade.
Now here comes what we came to watch, Julie and Tyler, led in front by their instructor, Master Rick. We are so proud of them both.
Every parade has to have some antique cars and some classic cars.
There was even a cute truck made to look like a Tonka truck.
There was even a guy that did not know what your feet are for,
After Julie and Tyler were done walking they joined us to watch the rest of the parade.
No parade can be without the Fire Trucks. Gracie covered her ears as their sirens were quite loud, to say the least.
We hope everyone had an enjoyable Memorial Day also, and we want to especially thank all those who secrefised so much and some their lives so we could enjoy the freedoms that we have to this day.
